Project TEACH NY Statewide Webinar Series: Maternal Mental Health 2025

Project TEACH is funded by the New York State Office of Mental Health and all services and events, such as this intensive training, are offered at no cost to clinicians in New York State.

Target Audience

New York State primary care and family practice physicians, obstetricians/gynecologists, pediatricians and psychiatrists; as well as, psychologists, nursing professionals, social workers, residents, and mental health clinicians working with primary care, pediatric or ob/gyn practices.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this program, learners will be able to:

  1. Correctly identify the risks of untreated, undertreated perinatal psychiatric illness and also to identify the risks of pharmacotherapies in pregnant and lactating patients, thereby enhancing prescriber ability to perform informed consent with their patients and recommend treatment.
  2. Discuss the effects of marijuana, edibles and vaping in the perinatal period.
  3. Discuss sexual function and relationships during the perinatal period.
  4. Identify evidence-based practices to optimize infant mental health.
